Block printed and then embroidered

Establishing and leading a textile art group over a number of years resulted in me developing a range of workshops. Now though, because of the break we’ve had during the pandemic and lockdown it’s been a time for review, for making new things, for studying and developing this website.  However, workshops may permitted again in 2021 but as yet we can’t be sure. If they are I would consider local groups. I’m ready to roll one out on printing blocks with embroidery, see the bag example. Making Cloth Books or Fabric Art Journals is another possibility, see some images below.

Another interesting skill I’m happy to demonstrate is Cathedral Window Quilting. This technique is mainly done by hand and with a very satisfying result. Shown here is a bed runner I have recently completed. However something smaller like a cushion cover, or the front of a bag could be achieved in far less time. For those who love embroidery imagine if the little centre squares were hand embroidered.
